"Strangers Among Us" - A Black-headed parrot feeds on the bark of a tree. Seen during the Birds Caribbean conference field trip to the Botanic Gardens. Port-of-Spain, Trinidad.
"Out on a Limb" - An Antillean crested hummingbird stretches while perched on a dry branch. Vigie, St. Lucia.
"Nesting Season" - A Scaly-naped pigeon flies off with one more twig for its dream nest. Vigie, St. Lucia.

"Protein Prowl" - This Green-throated Carib hummingbird is hunting insects along this scorched bush, for its dietary needs. Grand Riviere, St. Lucia.
"Guava Season" - In some countries this expression usually means hard times for people - having to eat guavas instead of heavier food. For this Scaly-breasted thrasher it is the complete opposite - let the good time roll! Grand Riviere, St. Lucia.

"Sticky Situation" - A White-tailed goldenthroat hummingbird's attempts to eat a tiny spider is met with some sticky resistance by the spider's web. Tacargiua, Trinidad.

"Two-for-One Special" - A mated pair of White-flanked antwrens scouring the forest for food. Talparo, Trinidad.
"Striking Gold" - It is always a pleasure to see a male Golden-headed Manakin in the forest. They light up the dark. Talparo, Trinidad.
"Swamp-Pecker" - A Straight-billed Woodcreeper pauses on the root of a red mangrove, as it takes a break from hunting for food. Caroni Swamp, Trinidad.
"Skip A Beat" - An American flamingo skips across the muddy surface of the swamp, as it lands. Caroni Swamp, Trinidad.
"I'm telling you. It was this big!" - A pair of Blue-and-Gold Macaws engage in lively conversation. Port-of-Spain, Trinidad.
"Pot of Gold" - Like a mythical leprechaun sitting on a pot of gold at the end of that rainbow, the Short-tailed pygmy tyrant is one of those birds you have to see (or not see) with the naked eye to believe. Talparo, Trinidad.
"Lady in the Woods" - A female Ringed kingfisher perches in a tree, enjoying the afternoon quiet. Tacarigua, Trinidad.
"All Eyes On Me" - An immature American Flamingo feeding in a pond. Caroni, Trinidad.
"Going Cuckoo!" - A Mangrove Cuckoo flies quickly from branch to branch within a patch of dry forest. Vigie, St. Lucia.
"Dinner for One" - A female Barred Antshrike poses with her catch of grasshopper for dinner. Aranguez, Trinidad.
"One Flew by the Cuckoo's Nest" - A Striped cuckoo takes flight in the air above the farmlands. Aranguez, Trinidad.

"Swampy Highway" - A trio of American flamingos walk by a partially leucistic Little blue heron in the swamp. Caroni, Trinidad.
"Escort Service" - An American kestrel attempts to escort a Red-tailed hawk out of its range. Montego Bay, Jamaica.
"Under the Bush" - A Caribbean dove walks quietly through the undergrowth, trying its best to remain unseen. St. James, Jamaica.
"What's in a Name?" - An Antillean palm swift flies up into the fronds of a palm tree, where it roosts. Montego Bay, Jamaica.
"Sweet Pickings" - This White-crowned Pigeon was enjoying the palm fruit to the fullest! Montego Bay, Jamaica.

"Follow The Leader" - A pair of Antillean Palm swifts engaging in mid-air acrobatics, as they try to catch flies. Montego Bay, jamaica.

"Let Sleeping Birds Stand" - A Northern potoo sleeps upright in its roost, shaded and well-hidden from the elements and any potential predators. Kingston, Jamaica.
"Caribbean Blue" - Warblers weren't the only birds enjoying a vacation in the Caribbean, as this Indigo Bunting illustrates. Kingston, Jamaica.
"Mellow Yellow" - A Yellow-throated warbler pauses for a split second on a branch, planning its next hop! Kingston, Jamaica.
"Black and Blue All Over" - The Black-throated blue warbler is another fairly common migrant that can be found here, getting ready for its trip back north. The male plumage shows how the species gets its name. Kingston, Jamaica.
"Still Searching" - A Palm warbler looks high and low for insects to devour, an exercise that goes on most of the day as it builds its reserves for the next part of its migration. Kingston, Jamaica.
