Deeply inspiring with mechanized sex as combat. Apocalypse Keys, Rae Nedjadi - For the success system of “too much isn’t a good thing” and messy complicated dark romances. Girl Frame, Isabelle Ruebsaat - This game caused the complete gut and rewrite of Augury in Litany from Carved from Brindlewood to PBTA and immediately wrote about 5,000-7,000 words in a single week because of the pieces clicking into place. Girl Frame also inspired the Nomens and Titles system within the game. The Between and Carved from Brindlewood system, Jason Cordova & The Gauntlet - The original version of this game was a Carved from Brindlewood game. While it no longer is the same system, parts of Carved from Bridlewood are found all over the character sheets. Alongside this, the complicated messy relationships between Hunters in The Between was a huge inspiration for how messy the playbooks in Augury in Litany can be. Special thanks to The Explorer and Undeniable playbooks for giving me a stepping stone. Apocalypse World and Powered by the Apocalypse system, Vincent and Meguey Baker - This game would likely never be possible without them and their experimentation with new forms of game design. Monsterhearts 1e and 2e, Avery Alder - Reading this game and seeing the difference in how it’s played for Actual Play versus at a home table is what caused me to create a game loop in Augury in Litany with regards to a Playbook Title and using your Sex Play to regain its use once spent.
