I'm reading Jenn Budd's Against the Wall. I only know about it because I've encountered her on Substack. I've only encountered her on Substack because I follow as many informed sources as I can on immigration justice. (I can't bear to follow all the harm being done by the current regime. I chose one, just one, to learn to understand and seek to oppose as much as possible. This is my one.) It's far from an easy read. But it is holy, in the way that all truth telling is holy. I feel so much reverence for all those who light the way in this dark night.

"A border patrol truck, and not just one, but three of them at the pickup line," Garcia said with worry in her voice. According to Broward County Public Schools, the federal agents were on campus for career day, speaking to students in kindergarten up to 5th grade. The district said in a statement, "The vehicles on campus were associated with the educational event and were not connected to any immigration enforcement activity at or near the school." Hi, I'm in the middle of "against the Wall". Outstanding book. Your honest account of how your thinking changed (for better or worse) throughout your time in CBP, should make it a classic. How you got from "needing a job" to becoming a whistleblower, of "getting along" so you wouldn't be sexually assaulted or fired, to learning how the system worked, to being continually disappointed in people you felt were decent, makes it read like a mystery. You got out alive, with your values intact (spoiler?). But the journey is what makes the book.

This is not to say Trump and the GOP did not protect and participate in Epstein's crimes. They did. But not in New Mexico. Here, the Epstein protection network was almost entirely the democrats, for the simple reason that they are who hold power in our state. And the DPNM now seems to think a better strategy than honesty about their own failures to protect children would be to blame the other side for what their own assholes did.

They don't deny it, they just don't process it. An application like ours that took 45 days under Biden, has still not been even granted a work permit for over a year now. No changes.

Starting at the top, the investigation of U.S. Border Patrol Chief Banks for sexual misconduct was abruptly ended by former Secretary Kristi Noem®. As mentioned above, Inspector General Cuffari has deleted material relevant to rampant sexual misconduct within DHS. Additionally, Border Patrol management teams of agents who are neither criminal investigators nor internal affairs investigators continue to interfere in the investigations of agent-involved misconduct, including sexual misconduct. These teams were previously known as Critical Incident Teams and were dismantled in that form in 2022, when they were exposed by SBCC? But they continue to operate as management teams. For example, in 2025, Border Patrol teams were present when local police served a warrant on a CBP supervisor involved in child pornography.
