SVG filters provide a basic lighting system you can sync with a little JavaScript and use in your web apps 💡 ... not as powerful as MacOS implementation but pretty cool

Amen! #SVG was rolled into HTML5 so it can be used in-line in just about any page. If you reference it as an external file, you can compress the usual #XML dialect into SVGZ to save bandwidth.
