I'm going to keep posting it, no matter how the algorithm tries to stifle me: This is the post that you don’t want to read. And you don’t have to. But in a very short period of time, these things will find you anyway. First, I’ve pointed out three areas of the most current American cognitive dissonance. I guarantee you are struggling to navigate AT LEAST one of them. Second, I’ve listed nine reasons why the House of Representatives specifically is no more. I saved the most devastating reasons for the final few. Read them, if you dare. And it all has to do with Speaker of the House Mike Johnson… But first…the cognitive dissonance of the Right: Observing Trump bend, circumvent, or break the law to benefit his friends yet pervert the law to terrorize his enemies is somehow ‘good for America’ and will only help Republicans while only targeting Democrats. Bolton and Comey are both Republicans. No one is safe from the whims of the Great Leader. And…the cognitive dissonance of the Left: You can’t believe the 2024 Presidential election was manipulated and not ring every alarm to ensure it can’t happen again. If everything is left exactly the way things were left in November, the Democrats will mysteriously never win a majority again. Finally…the cognitive dissonance of America: No Speaker of the House who seriously wants to end this government shutdown would disband Congress with no firm date to return. Period.

In fairness… First they came after all things Biden and few of us spoke up because, well, he was gone (according to some, figuratively and literally). Then they came after trans people, migrants, women, the environment (public and Indigenous land, oceans and other waterways, air), the health and wellbeing of individuals and families (SNAP and Medicaid cuts, anti-science changes to public health policies, etc.), businesses (tariffs anyone?), allies, vulnerable people all over the globe with the shuttering of USAID, trumped up accusations of Fentanyl flooding in, of needing Greenland for security, of maybe invading Panama, Iran—or to be precise, its nuclear facilities…with mitigated success, Ukraine—making it do that most annoyingly humiliating dance of “when I say ‘jump,’ you ask, ‘how high?’” and so on… Many people spoke up, or tried, included members of Congress, activists, journalists, artists, anyone with a voice to share, but their messages fell on the deafest of ears. Then they came after all sorts of visible minorities, especially brown skinned, Spanish speaking, regardless of age, legal status in the country and so on. They got, to use the Regime’s language, the biggest budget ever seen in the history of Homeland Security so that unidentified, masked people could seize those often brown-skinned people and disappear them on off to who-knows-where. With the military presence and militarization of law enforcement, it became increasingly difficult to speak up, but many have continued trying…even as they came after cities or threatened to “take them over." And yes, they came after John Bolton…but not before they removed his security detail despite credible threats. In fact, they removed security details of many rather vulnerable former heads of Government. I keep trying to speak out even when it feels like spitting in the wind. I know we mustn’t give up. That would be exactly what they want, as can be read in Project 2025 and elsewhere. But, when they come…
