Wanted to read this sweet Pride & Prejudice spin-off before the TV adaptation comes this year, and now I have. VERY Austenesque. It gives middle sister, Mary, guts, a brilliant mind, and a satisfying happy ending. A bit long for my taste but definitely a great read for any #JaneAusten fan. #booksky

I LOVED the book which I too read because I heard about the TV adaptation. Currently struggling (massively struggling) with the tv version which so far (episode 4) comes nowhere near what I felt from the book.

Jane Austens great great+ niece, Joan Austen Leigh, wrote 2 novels using static characters from Emma. Great little reads as well (and not too long).
