Hasn’t worked the last four times they tried to close Granville over the years
Do they not have police cadets in Vancouver? Montreal barely has dedicated police/security presence on their car-free streets but if they do on super busy days they are police cadets to check for obv infractions, who I’m guessing don’t get paid over $100/hr
If the Vancouver police can’t explain why they need an extra $200,000 a week on top of their $497 million budget to police five blocks of car free activities, then I can make videos pointing out how much that works out to every hour for every block. We’ll update if they provide more information.

I hope you or other reporters do a total of all the different ways that Ken Sim & ABC Vancouver has put money in the VPD’s police union‘s members pockets for breaking their non partisanship for decades, politicizing the police by endorsing ABC last #vanpoli election & how much it cost us citizens

If the police disclosed what the money was for, it might look like accountability, and that is not something they would ever support.
