But the representation of Odysseus as a reluctant warlord makes a nonsense of the movie’s imagined world. We are not shown that war or killing are bad, only that good men sometimes feel bad about it – a very different point. Any serious depiction of violence, ancient or modern, must show the perspectives of the victims as well as the perpetrators, and the Homeric poems easily clear the bar – but Nolan doesn’t. The Trojans are dehumanised by their masks; we know none of them by name or face. The hands of Odysseus and Telemachus are bloodied only by the most righteous, computer-game modes of killing, and we feel no pity or horror at the deaths of their victims, whether Trojans, giants, suitors or slaves. During the sack of Troy – which he supposedly organised – Odysseus gazes around in bewilderment and horror, as if he has never seen a massacre before.

If you can't find soft French bread, you can substitute one and a half 18-inch baguettes, though the crust will be slightly tougher. Cut the baguettes into six equal pieces, and distribute the toppings evenly. Instructions For The Pizza Adjust oven rack to upper-middle position and heat oven to 450 degrees. Flip bread cut side up and brush cut side evenly with melted butter mixture. Bake, cut side up, until browned around edges, about 5 minutes. For The Sauce Meanwhile, combine 1½ cups canned crushed tomatoes, 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil, 1½ teaspoons Italian seasoning, ½ teaspoon sugar, ½ teaspoon table salt, and ½ teaspoon pepper in bowl. (Sauce can be refrigerated for up to 24 hours.) Spread sauce evenly over toasted bread, then top with 12 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese, followed by 1 ounce grated Parmesan cheese and 2 ounces thinly sliced pepperoni. Bake until cheese is melted and spotty brown, about 15 minutes. Let pizza cool for 5 minutes. Serve.

In fact, this was true well before 2016. In the VOTER Survey, we know how Sanders-Trump voters voted in 2012, based on an earlier interview in November 2012. Only 35 percent of them reported voting for Obama, compared with 95 percent of Sanders-Clinton voters. In other words, Sanders-Trump voters were predisposed to support Republicans in presidential general elections well before Trump’s candidacy. Schaffner found that what distinguished Sanders-Trump voters from Sanders-Clinton voters wasn’t their attitudes about trade, but their attitudes about race. When asked whether whites are advantaged, Sanders-Trump voters were much more likely to disagree than were Sanders-Clinton voters.
2026 is already baked in: no new coach will magically elevate this roster, there’s no surprise QB savior, and salary cap rules won’t let them instantly tank to get a top 5 draft pick. Instead, expect an agonizing 6-win season, with just enough veteran competence to beat bad teams and steal a win or two, but not remotely the talent or schemery to achieve Tomlinesque mediocrity. Every team with a good QB will win with ease. 2027 will be, God willing, the nadir: old, once-great players like Watt and Heyward will be gone or part time, 30ish, good players will be dealt for anything, and there won’t be enough brilliant, young players to beat anybody. No starting QB solution will have arrived: nobody worth shit is available in 2026, and a 6-win team probably doesn’t pick high enough to get a franchise QB in the ‘27 draft. If they’re really lucky, they’ll have a promising late–top-10 pick surrounded by zero skill players, taking his lumps in a bad season. Then comes the upswing. Whether they draft a franchise QB from 6 wins in ‘27 or from 3 wins in ‘28, they should have an actual talent behind center. But 53-man rosters aren’t built overnight, and very few good players on the team right now will be helping the next good Steelers QB in 2028. Instead you’ll see the inevitable Frankenstein roster of a rebuilding team, with talented guys about to leave alongside raw rookies and filler accumulated during losing seasons. If their new coach is good, and Kahn is doing his job, the club will approach .500 and be within a good draft of a contending team.
