A small sliver of the universe begins to accelerate, growing in size, as the “stars” within it evolve from blue and yellow to red, and eventually, to black. Against a gridded dark purple backdrop, dark matter and energy pulsates.

In the beginning, there was Darkness. Then, there was Light, illumination of reds and pinks and oranges and gold.
A bright, blue image of the Cosmic Microwave Background glows in the beginning, then fades into darker, more red-toned shades at the end, representing the universe’s cooling. Eventually everything fades to back, representing the Dark Age. In the latter half of the video, after the surface of last scattering is mentioned, particles radiate from the CMB, representing the escaping light.
In the beginning of the video, green, red, and blue quarks, as well as electrons, buzz about the screen. The background is dark, warm colors, which periodically glow in orange and yellow. As the video continues, some quarks brightly decay into three other particles which fly across the screen. Later, an electron and quarks of each color join to create hydrogen, which some later brightly fuse into helium
The video begins as a bright yellow with orange particles moving across it, and the scene slowly transitions to a deeper red by the end, representing the cooling of the universe. As the Higgs Field is mentioned, wavy fields begin to be visible, eventually crisscrossing on top of a grid, representing the new gravitational field.
Throughout the video, a violet-red-and-orange image of the cosmic web is shown to be expanding. At the beginning, when different bread types are listed, the “cosmic web” image is turned brown to be more breadlike, and is shown in a way to make it appear like a torus (to represent a bagel), a ball (for the roll), and a flat circle (cake). As this is done, a symbol in the bottom right is pictured to equal -1, 1, and 0, respectively, signifying different values for the universe’s curvature.
Throughout the video, a blue ball of gridded light slowly rotates and expands from a point on the screen until it encompasses it wholly.
