I’m a senior supervisor, but Human Resources has restricted my role of overseeing carpet removal with excuses such as “tripping people on the stairs” and “attempted house escape.” I’m confined to a remote work location with entry-level tasking like treat disposal. Have you contacted your union rep?
I consulted this very real lawyer. He says that's clearly a violation of your work contract. He advises screaming, and intermittent nibbling on the HR representative's toes to remind them that you're perfectly willing to escalate the matter if necessary.
