1968 Topps 3D Roberto Clemente baseball card. Rare test set. Love the picture of a determined Roberto in his battle worn black Pirates batting helmet. This card popped up on eBay ungraded. The story was that the guy selling it found it at the bottom of a chest in a house he was demoing and renovating. A very suspect story! He had a really high price for it. I made him an offer that was about 1/3, but I thought fair. I had no idea on value since not many sales, but I wanted this card, I never thought I would own one. He ended up accepting my offer. I immediately sent to Beckett for grading because I knew I had taken a big chance, it was by far the most I ever paid for a card. I was so relieved when it came back authentic!!
