There’s a throughline in these 3 seemingly disparate @visakanv.com tweets: specificity. Lots of latent fears prevent people from being specific: - of loneliness - of rejection - of failure Counterintuitively the opposite is true. Specificity makes connection, acceptance, and success more likely.

It’s natural to think that by being specific we are excluding certain experiences. By not being universal, appealing to a “common humanity” we are leaving some connections on the table. But as with anything there are tradeoffs. And we rarely focus on the positive tradeoff of specifics - resonance
