It's the epitome of "sincere, but not serious" that many adaptations miss.

Feels like a lot of 90s and early 00s movies that were considered 'bad' at the time mostly got that reputation because they weren't at the same level as the absolute masterpieces that were coming out regularly at the time. See also Van Helsing. Rewatched recently and it's really fun and creative.
See as a fan of the older TR titles, these films felt right at home with the more action-y moments and snappy writing of the Legends titles. Sure, are they a bit dated, yes, but doesn't Angelina play a excellent Lara? The answer is yes, absolutely.
