Patience suggests: "...so should we just kill the mayor?" Trisssh snaps her fingers and points at Patience in assent to her idea. Katie sternly says Patience's name.
We finally reveal that Terry is the other side of the debate. He’s wearing a NJ Dreadbears hat and Jersey. He puts a Dreadbear hat on the host. TERRY: Now you’re getting it!
PASQUALO: Exactly. Think about it: the Pinewolves don’t have anything against regular people like us. It’s Mayor Shumway who’s behind all this. He wants to turn us against the barrens and start a war just so he can build his precious football stadium!

Patience, a short brown-haired girl, indicates that she couldnt tell the difference. whereas Trisssh, a snake person, rebuts her by saying "you two don't count! up until a few months ago, you've spent most of your lives in a wooden dog house or whatever, right?" Also Watience is there.
1. They're all in the puppy room. Throughout these first few panels Trisssh will be inspecting various tough looking dogs and they'll be scared of her. Meanwhile in the background Melanie is giving a lecture about dogs. MELANIE: Did you know that dogs were first discovered by Christopher Columbus during his journey on the Mayflower in 1776? PASQUALO: I did not. 2. MELANIE: Did you know also, that dogs are made of meat, and bones, and that stuff fancy wigs are made of? KATIE: ...Hair? MELANIE: Yeah, yeah yeah! 3. MELANIE: Hot dogs are also made of meat and bones but despite the name they're not actually related to dogs! KATIE: Oh honey. That's the most naive thing you've said so far. 4. Melanie gets a serious look on her face. She whispers this to the others conspiratorially. MELANIE: …Tyrannosaurus Rex lived closer in history to human beings than they did the Stegosaurus. 5. MELANIE: Human civilization is just an insignificant blip in time compared to what came before us. TRISSSH: DOG WARDEN!!! WHAT IS GOING ON WITH ALL THESE WHELPS? 6. Trisssh is holding a dog who is absolutely terrified of her. TRISSSH: Are you selling a defective product!? They keep whining and urinating themselves incessantly. 7. MELANIE: I think they're just scared of you, Talking Pile of Snakes. Pasqualo points. PASQUALO: What about that one? 8. A little impossibly cute pomeranian is jumping up at Trisssh's ankles, licking her and wagging its tail. TRISSH: This little freak of nature? I thought it was some new breed of fluffy rat. I wouldn't even eat the thing. It probably has Lyme disease. 9. HORLEY: The skull is always smiling, but hungry is the light. 10. TRISSSH: FFFFF--Fine… Wrap it up. I'll take it. PASQUALO, KATIE: Yaayyyyy! MELANIE: Fabulous Thunderbirds!

1: Katie has just finished reading Pasqualo’s comic. Comic number 529. The last comic before this one. She looks like shes trying to think how to phrase her criticism in a way that isn't devastating to Pasqualo. KATIE: Hmm… Well, you know that I do think its cool how you’re exploring a more long-form narrative in your comics... PASQUALO: Thanks! Just wanted to stretch the ol’ artistic wings, I guess. 2: KATIE: The thing is, Pasqualo, I’m really not so sure about this direction you’re going with for Lady Avryce. You keep having bad stuff happen to her without any real rhyme or reason. And then the other characters rescue Avryce because they’re all so inexplicably in love with her. PASQUALO: Yeah, well, she’s the protagonist. KATIE: Don’t you see how that robs her of any agency though? She has no arc. She’s just a static prop, an idealized cipher for the reader to project onto. 3: KATIE: Another thing: as an author, you can’t just have your characters constantly talking about how cool, brave, talented and smart your protagonist is, you have to show those qualities through her actions. There’s a real dissonance here between how characters talk about Lady Avryce and how she’s actually portrayed within the comics. I mean she’s CONSTANTLY crying. 4: Pasqualo is crying grossly. Katie is exhausted with it. KATIE: I’m all for showing vulnerability, but at a certain point, it’s like, grow up! Crying can’t be your response to every—Pasqualo, no, stop it.

PASQUALO: Nah, that's the soup kitchen. On Mondays I do the animal shelter, 5: Pasqualo wearing a chef's hat in a kitchen running away carrying a raccoon that is having diarrhea. PASQUALO: Tuesday's the soup kitchen, 6: Pasqualo on a basketball court wearing a referee jersey, chasing a goat with diarrhea off the court. PASQUALO: and Thursdays I referee youth basketball down at the rec center! 7: back to the present ALLISON: Wow, dude, How do you have time to do all that stuff and still do your schoolwork and junk? 8: In the background illustration Pasqualo is using a .50 caliber machine gun, perhaps a browning m2, to fire upon massive albino bears that are charging her defensive position. PASQUALO: Oh and of course I have my service with the reserve ABDF culling Dreadbears down in the sewers. But that's only one weekend a month so that hardly counts.
