The sign reads: 4.3 "Asocials" In November 1933, hundreds of prisoners from the workhouse Reibdorf( a correctional facility for beggars and so-called "work shy") were brought to the Dachau concentration camp. After that there was a large number of prisoners in Dachau who as "asocials" had been sentenced to "compulsory work" by the police, because their way of life was regarded as non-conform, either because they had previous convictions (petty crimes), or they had failed to pay maintenance fees. Following the raids on the beggars (particularly in 1936) and the arrest campaign against "asocials" in 1937-38, mainly these people were brought to Dachau. The SS marked their clothing with a black triangular patch and assigned them to the hardest work commandos.

Sign from Dachau describing people deported back to Germany. After the Nazis came to power many political opponents, Jews, and cultural dissidents fled to other countries to escape discrimination and persecution. Quite a few of these emigrants were expelled and sent back to Germany. In 1935 they were arrested upon their return and sent to a concentration camp.
