A stroll through a path I know like the back of my hand. A summer breeze floats by and bird’s wings are the soft sounds of the day. Queen Anne’s Lace bending toward the path invites a closer look, but my eyes are always drawn toward the Atlantic.

Harvested a small variety of this and that from the vegetable garden this morning. Broth smelling wonderfully is simmering on the stove. Now trying to create dinner plans from carrots, beets, onions, potatoes, and herbs. A roasting pan may be calling me 🤭🤔

Reaching far over my head oodles of yellow roses stretch out on the branches from our Doris Day Rose. This cheerful rose gives and gives throughout the season. Similar to Julia Child (and related) this rose has a consistent soft yellow I like. Placed by our porch door I pass it many times daily and smile each time. Can’t help it. She adds light to the garden with her profusion of blooms. 💛

The vibrant color visible from every vantage point keeps me smiling while I work on the other side of the fence in the vegetable patch

Strawberries grown in pots on a deck to save them from the chipmunks who devoured them in my vegetable garden. The first are ripening, like mad with the heat of the last few days.
First flower of the season from this Beverly hybrid tea rose. Glorious fragrance and wonderfully shaped large flowers. This rose is planted in honor of my mom. How my mom loved the garden 🙏

Alive with buds this rose will likely display quite a flush of blooms in the next few days. It is such a pleasure to see the return of the roses. Today’s warmth gave the buds a welcome push ☀️💛

I have many photos & loads of frustration as I tried to photograph branches draped heavily in these wonderful (I think) pink blooms. The bush is large, tall well above my head, and every branch is bursting with baby pink blooms. The bush is alive with bees. To me this bush is the first real symbol of June 💖
