Letter sent to CEO of Enterprise car rental: Chrissy Taylor, CEO Enterprise Mobility 600 Corporate Park Dr. St. Louis, MO 63105 January 24, 2026 Dear Ms. Taylor, Yesterday, I canceled my upcoming Enterprise car rental (confirmation #blocked out), booked through my Costco Membership, and made a reservation with another agency instead. I travel periodically, paying for my own travel arrangements, and have had nothing but excellent service from Enterprise. Your personnel are friendly, your cars have been clean and new, and I always felt that Enterprise valued my time and business. However, I recently learned that Enterprise Mobility maintains federal contracts with ICE. After watching the violence and brutality that ICE is now committing in Minnesota and elsewhere, I cannot in good conscience direct my business to Enterprise. I recognize that the business you receive from me, an occasional economy renter, is paltry compared to what you receive through federal contracts, but it matters to me where I spend my money. I hope you will not look away from what Enterprise is enabling by providing cars for ICE, and that you will reconsider these contracts. I would love to return as a customer and fan. Sincerely,

It is difficult in some cases to get to the very heart of the matter. But in this case, it is not hard at all. The government is asserting a right to stash away residents of this country in foreign prisons without the semblance of due process that is the foundation of our constitutional order. Further, it claims in essence that because it has rid itself of custody that there is nothing that can be done. This should be shocking not only to judges, but to the intuitive sense of liberty that Americans far removed from courthouses still hold dear.
