While French anthropologist Claude Lévi-Strauss (1908–2009) is a towering figure in structuralism, he is famously unrelated to the Levi Strauss (1829–1902) who founded the iconic blue jeans empire. The historical namesake and the philosopher are often confused due to the shared name.
I’ve developed such a tenderness for Nietzsche, for this frail, docile man who lived so fiercely on the page. I want to find a cat with a similar mustache to Nietzsche’s, and name him Nietzsche, and pick him up and cuddle him close to my chest and kiss his little forehead and say, “I love you, Nietzsche.”

Trump and especially those pulling his strings don’t have little Etsy witches they have centuries of old bloodlines who survive and sustain themselves based on ritualistic harvesting of all manners. It’s embedded in their daily life and behavior and rules their choices more than law and politics. Your little hexes and “locating spells” are not going to reach anything or anyone capable of culling and harvesting from millions of people both living and dead.
