One of those "selfie" things all the kids are doing. Did I do it right? I got me on the right holding my wire-strung harp in the center and left, with the ocean and an offshore island in the background.

Pacific Ocean, Crescent City, CA 20241223 A wave makes a big splash on Preston Island. Preston Island was a near-shore sea stack that was quarried for material to build the harbor jetty. Now it's a reef. There are some large remnants of its former form at its southwestern end. When there's a storm that makes large ocean swells, they sometimes crash dramatically here.

A pair of some kind of ribs with an attached vertebra, I think. There is a Sharpie included for scale; the ribs are about twice the size of the Sharpie. My guess is that they are from a small sea mammal, perhaps a young seal or sea lion.
