Carney trekked across the Ottawa River to Wakefield, Que., last weekend to catch Wainwright's show at the iconic live-music venue The Black Sheep Inn. "Fortunate to hear the iconic Martha Wainwright at The Black Sheep. which she immortalized in song last time she was here. Judging by her new material, these 'flowers are still coming up wild.' Extraordinary," Carney posted on social media on April 18, along with a photo of himself and the artist. Wainwright herself thanked Carney for coming out, and for providing a little fuel to her friendly rivalry with her musician brother Rufus Wainwright:"You never know who's going to show up at a gig...so wild to have this incredible audience member at the Black Sheep Inn, so proud to be a Canadian, thank you Mark Carney for coming (and making my brother jealous...finally), " she posted on Instagram. Both Martha and Rufus are the children of two independently successful musicians: Canadian Kate McGarrigle and American Loudon Wainwright III. Starting from the obvious fact that professional intuition is sometimes marvelous and sometimes flawed, the authors attempt to map the boundary conditions that separate true intuitive skill from overconfident and biased impressions. They conclude that evaluating the likely quality of an intuitive judgment requires an assessment of the predictability of the environment in which the judgment is made and of the individual's opportunity to learn the regularities of that environment. Subjective experience is not a reliable indicator of judgment accuracy.
