The yearly change in the layoffs rate is a bit more split between sectors. Larger increases in information and mining and logging, declines in financial activities and construction. Despite construction declines it has the leading rate sector wide at a relatively low ~1.7. #EconSky #NumbersDay

Looking at the labor leverage ratio – the number of quits to layoffs – by sector shows every sector still above 1 as of Jan. '25. However 7 of 11 sectors have seen yearly declines in the labor leverage ratio. Larger declines in leisure and hospitality and information sectors. #EconSky #NumbersDay.
