Pride? As a lot of you know, this month started off very strangely. Having my art called out for being not "lesbian" enough rep, then the harassment spree. Ever since I took a massive step back, didn't even want to celebrate pride anymore. It felt like I was supposed to be ashamed. I guess I am in a way. A lot of people remarked that I'm a rep for the more masculine side of lesbianism, showing the butch archetype. I get it I guess, got the eyepatch, kinda larger size, can be intimidating. Some people find that hot. I guess I do to, but there lies the problem. I hate my body. Not the "gender" part, the actual entirety. I wish I had a smaller frame, that I didn't gain fat in places | hate. I always wanted to be softer, smaller, didn't even need to have massive boobs or something. I feel like I am forced into this butch archetype because of my build, and it honestly feels like wanting to be the more subby type is out of reach. I've been through a lot, way more than most people. I'm build to take damage at this point, and it's the complete opposite of what I wanted to be. I can't change any of that now. My bones are dense, my metabolism is trash, and | look like I can break someone in half. I hate that. I hate feeling like | can't be the little spoon, the one that curls up on someone's lap.

We don't need answers A lot of people over the past month now, since we got the theatrical release, have debated on whether the ending was satisfactory or not. While many praise the ending to be great, others hate how questions weren't answered. What exactly is C&A as a company? How did Zooble and Gangle end up getting their brains scanned? Will there be more people finding themselves getting scanned? Sometimes we don't need answers to these questions. Speculation is good, and can keep stories and fan cannons alive. The story that needed to be told was told, and it was the story the creator Gooseworx invisioned. That's all that matters. As for whether we needed a happy ending or not, no, we didn't. We got what I would argue is a very somber ending. Where those who could continue were able to find new footing. Where the rogue Al was no longer insane, where there is finally a level of peace despite the tragedies surrounding them. We don't need perfect endings. Not all questions need an answer and it doesn't need to end with Jax alive. While one could argue Jax isnt dead persay, the reality is Jax's mind files were no longer readable.

We have two lesbians that I know of in the banner. one of which chose to use that particular flag, while another didn't. We also have lots of nonbinary folk in the flag, but none of us opted to use that particular flag this year. This does not equate to a lack of comradery and support for our nonbinary website users, either, simply because we didn't have a flag in a collage of ourselves. All of these were our own individual decisions on what we wanted to bring. We are regretful our personal representation of our own sense of pride as a group requires the suggestion by yourself of adding a token lesbian who is not on staff to the banner, as are we saddened to see the discredation of all our fantastic bi/pan WLW staff members that appear to not be queer enough for some people's tastes throughout this thread. We are also uncomfortable with the assertion that individual folks' personal representations of themselves are not good enough, and we would like to remind you to please be respectful of staff as we are free volunteers trying to celebrate a very important time of year by showing who -we- are. We will-not- be filling a flag representation quota as that would be disrespectful to our many lesbian friends and family. We all brought whatever flags we wanted to bring, and we apologize if our identities aren't what you want them to be. Happy Pride. I'm going to have to respectfully ask this conversation to end. It is bordering on disrespect towards peoples' identities and what they personally wanted to add to the collage to represent their own pride.
The FurAffinity Lesbian thing A lot of this is going crazy and I'd like to take a moment as one of the lesbian furaffinity staff members to address it. This all started because someone mentioned that there wasn't enough lesbian representation on the banner. Staff mentioned that there are two lesbians on the banner, and also the lesbian flag was on my art. Users asked for the representation to be MORE obvious. I didn't make that art to be that way. The eyepatch my character has, as some of you know, is not supposed to be cool. It is a scar, a real life scar, that I carry. Everything surround that eye and eyepatch are made to tell a story, including the shattered eye thing. The eyepatch has always been something I hated about myself. So I chose, in that picture, to make it something I could be proud of. So, it's small, it's smaller than the flag I am carrying in that, but it's meant to be that way for a reason. These users claimed it wasn't enough. They would claim I should be doing more to increase representation, that we should hire more lesbians. We are a staff made of volunteers. We do not get paid, we chose to do this job because we wanted to help make FurAffinity the best it can be. We aren't perfect, and we never will be. As a token of appreciation, we are offered every so often to be included in the headline banner. It's special to be a part of that. We currently have a few members of staff that are lesbian, but chose not to put that on the art that was shared. I chose my piece cause I didn't have enough time to make a new one, and if I did, it probably wouldn't be too different.

I see such amazing creations being made by such talented people. They were able to overcome the odds, people that created since the moment they could and continued to fight to leave their mark no matter what got in their way. | look at myself. I wasn't homeless, but I likely would have been better off. I thought I could overcome everything but the damage done has destroyed all hope of a life where I can make a mark like | wanted to. I am at the mercy of donations and eventually Disability, having to accept that I would never be able to do the things I wanted. I don't think it's possible to express just how envious I am of people that were able to push past every barrier. I used to be able to, and it just doesn't work anymore. I don't know why I am here anymore. I don't know what I'm supposed to do. Is it OK to give up on the dreams and ambitions I had? Why does it feel so horrible? I'm told I can't do things anymore and I can feel why, but it still feels so wrong. I never let things stop me before, so why does it feel impossible now? By all accounts I shouldn't have made it this far, be it by my father's hand or my own, but I kept trying to push through, and now I feel like I got nothing. What do I do with my dreams? They are unobtainable now, I'm going to be 36 this year. I don't know what to do. What am I supposed to do? Rot? It feels like it's all I'm allowed to do. I don't know what I am anymore. If I can't obtain any dreams, if my ambitions are gone, if I can't change how my life goes anymore, why am I here? Why am I trying? I wanted to make animations, video games, stories, art. Gooseworx, I am going to the movies tonight. I don't have money for movies, so | rarely go. On top of that, I have pretty bad anxiety around so many people. I am going with a very close friend. When I saw the pilot for Digital Circus, I honestly didn't think much of it. Michael Kovach and Sean Chiplock were why I went to even watch, I have been a fan of both of them for a while. I wasn't aware how much this series would grip me. I've found a little bit of myself in each of the as characters. Usually I feel like there is one person in a story that we end up relating to, but this seems different. These characters all feel like each part of us, while all feeling completely different. That isn't an easy thing to pull off with characters. But you managed to do it wonderfully. I fell in love with the series. If I had the cash I'd have bought so much merch, maybe one day. And tonight, myself and many others get to see how this wonderful, tragic story ends. You've had so much pressure on you, and it got so big that the people who should enjoy it would never be happy with how it turns out. The larger the audience, the more people dislike it, that is unfortunately just how the math works. As someone who worked for a long time in customer service, one thing I always noticed is that the negative voices end up being the loudest. The people happy with service never filled out surveys, the angry ones do, so it always feels like we are failing. I doubt you'll read this, I'm sure others will, but I want to thank you for making such a beautiful story. I want to thank you for giving me the courage to push through despite what others think. You are so strong, even if it doesn't feel like you are. Don't let these unhappy people influence your future. You are an artist, your creations will never make every person happy, but to those they do make happy, it means the world. Thank you for such a wonderful journey, I cannot wait to see what the future brings to such a beautiful mind.
