Even the credit card companies push prime day. Frankly, it just strengthens my resolve. Screw that douchebag. I’m beyond tired of these people.
It’s just a useful reminder to not buy from Amazon. Or if that is too much of a lift, at least wait for a few weeks.

it's just this bizarre holdover from 2008 when online deals still had novelty, propped up because the trust fund brunchlords who run all the major U.S. newsrooms have no ethics and aren't competent or creative enough to contemplate any new funding models
Haven’t shopped on Amazon in over a year. Will hopefully never have to again.

You beat me to the punch. Seems like half the “articles” via Google “News” feed are about some Prime Day “deal”. Consumers are just dumb. Nothing is on sale, it’s all overpriced to start with.

I've cancelled so many subscriptions to sites/magazines bc of prime day slop (looking at you @wired.com), and it's all because of conde naste

Boycott Amazon especially Prime Day. Research has shown advertised deals are a scam.
It’s because the Google algorithm trained editors to think these are money maker posts, when they aren’t even anymore
Every thing links to them. It’s so disheartening. I’m making it a point to buy from anyone EXCEPT them!
Deals appropriately set to your local area if you buy a subscription first.
This and Black Friday (or black month,week, season, whatever) are on my permanent iggy list.
