But I have been thinking of Gaster as like, a schrodinger's cat type of thing I made this insane rambling earlier. (image transcribed below. it's from a google doc.) Gaster headcanon #1: Dr. Gaster fell into his own creation. A pool of sheer light. Or was it darkness? That was the problem. He couldn’t decide whether he was alive or dead. He disappeared without a trace. No one heard him fall, no one saw him leave. Then, they couldn’t decide whether he was alive or dead. Becoming one with it, he began to manipulate light and dark. Given his doctoral background he was always curious. In pursuit of understanding every world, he began to “experiment” with these worlds. All he does is experiment. He finds the variations “interesting”, and is delighted at continuity and persistence. Then, as for what sans and Papyrus are… I personally believe he was their oldest brother. Maybe too old when Papyrus was too young to remember him. Sans is always wanting to “go back” and “see them again”. I could see a (the image ends sorry) interestingly, many of CORE's assets are labeled "Light Tower" in the game files. (I know this because I was spending all night looking through the decompiled code for no reason) Now, this isn't that strange because "Snowdin" is called "Tundra" and Waterfall is called "Cavern" or "Cave". So Not all the areas have their exact names right except ruins. But I thought it was interesting that basically the shiny yellow stuff in CORE is "Light". People assumed Gaster made a Dark Fountain, or fell into darkness, but It would be interesting if it was light, I guess. There are some other interesting things you can see by looking at sprite names and variable names. Like it's confirmed that grass machine in Alphys' Lab is the "Ice Cream Machine" (for feeding Undyne). And sans' hidden room is called his-oh god I hit the character limit

A discord text message by me, Lucan It says: Don't forget that Red means "ball game". If you think it's determination you clearly didn't play the game! But, more realistically, Red probably means "Connection", or "Communion" Connection: in one sense is connecting with others. By befriending and helping the monsters the human is able to change the fate of the world. On the other hand, it represents connection to ""something else"" as gerson puts it. That "something else" being the angel, or us. They also commune with a demon, chara. The red soul alone is our vessel, and the only human soul we connect to, and seemingly the only human soul to have a connection with Chara. Also, calling the color of their souls as "soul traits" is entirely fanon. It's probably more like it's describing the human that fell down specifically. Not that everyone who has a yellow soul is very justicey.... I mean your soul turns yellow during the mettaton quiz and spamton NEO fight, which isn't very justice-like.......
