Picture of an American Robin. I saw it outside by my house, and had to zoom in a bunch to get a picture of it. Normally I would have classified this as a small bird but I've seen smaller birds in the area. It doesn't seem appropriate for a "small bird" classification, even though there is a large degree of arbitrary in this system. As an example, if I saw an American Robin next to a larger bird (i.e. A Golden Eagle as an extreme example) I would classify the robin as a small bird. Although if there was a group of three birds, one significantly larger then an American Robin, one significantly smaller then an American Robin, and an American Robin; I would consider the American Robin to be a medium bird. I am not a bird scientist.
