flicking the lights on&off
pulling you from bed at all hours
sitting in your lap / a constant
whisper in your ear / or,
abandoning all subtlety –
pulling out the megaphone,
bellowing inspiration –

your buzzing excuses slapped down
like flies: “I’m busy, I can’t
[write/right] now, I’m tired, I’m at work”
