Tiny light, keep on shining, hold back the dark. Lives on a hill in Sicily with an embarrassing number of cats. Will grumble and post pictures of cats, Sicily and food. Renovating an old house, which means I say FFS a lot. Roof appreciator.

Fig chutney 1.5kg figs 1kg sugar 3 onions roughly chopped 500g mixed raisins and sultanas (I just use raisins) 1lt good quality red wine vinegar (I just use vinegar) 2 teaspoons cayenne pepper (I didn't have any so left it out) 2 teaspoons paprika 2 teaspoons ground ginger 2 teaspoons all spice (I didn't have any so left it out) 2 tablespoons chilli sauce (I have used sweet chilli and hot tabasco, prefer sweet) 6 crushed garlic cloves salt and pepper. Place all ingredients together, bring to boil, then simmer for 2 hours until good chutney consistency
