Alkamilla looks up from an area where she is posted with a guard from the Evertides, separating with one hand quickly thrust behind her back. COUNT: Would you at least consider...? LIEGE: I'd prefer considerations to come to me from the individual. COUNT: Our navy, and your army, it would be... Liege and Count cross paths with Sandra in the castle, who seems annoyed with whatever is happening. SANDRA: Duke...? Care to EXPLAIN this? COUNT: Princess! Count Baron gestures towards Liege insistently. Alkamilla stares enthusiastically at Liege with a wide smile, encouragingly nudging him with her elbow, holding something bright orange behind her back. Liege looks dissatisfied with this, with a defeated posture. COUNT: As expected, your beauty inevitably drew the Worm King here! Liege manages a cordial demeanor as he offers Sandra a half bow. Sandra looks at Liege flatly. LIEGE: Princess Sandra...I would be a fool to refuse a chance to-- SANDRA: Everywhere you go, you make a mess and summon Crimsonheart. LIEGE: Not EVERY-- Princess Sandra's attendant steps into the room, looking panicked. Sandra frowns more decisively at Liege, as he looks back, apologetic, possibly a touch embarrassed. ATTENDANT: Princess, the Cloud Zeppelin is closing in on the city!

As if driven by smug instinct he pulls the bag down and rips it open. He looks into the open bag for a moment or two, disgusted, as his ears droop with the weight of his disappointment. Liege makes a more cognizant realization, less disappointed. LIEGE: Oh, I see, they're candy

Reeves is distressed in the Vermillion castle mail room. He's pouring over letters as Victor pulls up the Beacon from Prince Index from his rucksack, hurriedly standing in a flutter of discarded letters, cutting off Reeves. REEVES: So, I've been thinking about the letters from the Evertides... VICTOR: Hold the thought, Reeves! Ruby is sneaking out towards the Cloud Zeppelin again, at sunset. She's in a slightly more PREPARED version of the Glam Pilot outfit that looks similar to the kind of castle staff uniform, complete with white pants and short red ankle boots. Ruby looks up in surprise, as Crimsonheart waves to her from the ladder up to the Cloud Zeppelin. CRIMSONHEART: Hey, Ruby! We got another call from Libraria. Be back in the time it takes to beat Doomveil! Ruby begins with a morose look towards the skyline. Ruby has shifted into total anger, throwing her Panic Purse down on the ground, as the Zeppelin gets further away from Vermillion on the horizon.
Liege lowers his wine glass, mostly undrunk. Count shrugs as he pours another glass for himself. LIEGE: Did Princess Sandra put you UP to this...? COUNT: Not at ALL. Count gestures dismissively, as Liege gestures between the two of them, looking disappointed. COUNT: As I said...she doesn't trust magical communicators. It was difficult to keep even ONE after Libraria's-- LIEGE: This was never about...US. Count quickly dismisses this, waving a hand with half a smirk. COUNT: OH. Absolutely not. You're a little-- Count, realizing that he is stepping on very thin ice as Liege stares severely back at him, a faint "TINK-TnnK-cRRkk" SFX emanating from where Liege is holding the glass, offers a nervous smile, gesturing to keep things calm. COUNT: ...tall! For my taste. Liege rolls his eyes as he stands up, tossing the wine glass aside. Count seems mostly relieved to be unharmed, lifting his wine glass almost defensively. LIEGE: I suppose this has been a valuable lesson. COUNT: Has it? LIEGE: I really SHOULDN'T date someone too similar to me.

Liege twists to look at Ominous, who paces behind the sofa Liege is seated at. Harbinger continues to encroach on Liege's personal space. LIEGE: What about Hazel...? If the tournament itself was canceled...but I was her choice... OMINOUS: Your vouching for the Archskull changed matters. Ominous wearily pats Liege's shoulder in reassurance. Liege looks agitated, but does nothing to push away Harbinger as the worm begins to lick the side of his face. OMINOUS: Princess Hazel has been in Carnivora since you returned. LIEGE: Better losing to HIM than anyone else... Alkamilla leans back in to the discussion, looking over a missive projected from her hand's gem. Liege looks up to her in acknowledgement. ALKAMILLA: Hey. The Duke of The Evertides is calling. Liege fixes Alkamilla with a slightly confused, slightly impatient look, as he vainly tries to hold Harbinger at bay. Harbinger's eyes are hugely dilated as he slathers his tongue on the side of Liege's face. LIEGE: ...YOU said they don't have communicators in The Evertides... Count Baron, the Duke of the Evertides, is on the Shadowmurk communication screen. He's dressed down incredibly casually, making the call from what looks like a personal room. COUNT: Due to you tracking ships' communications, Princess Sandra banned them. That magic messages can be intercepted is concerning, but...I felt the need to reach out, personally.
Libraria - a central tall tower that resembles a planetarium dome with two symmetrical towers before it, is surrounded with a large stone wall, full of gateways and arched bridges over dusty canyons. It seems close to sunset as the Cloud Zeppelin hovers nearby. NARRATION TEXT: A friendly visit to the Magical City-State of Libraria Two robed figures look at Crimsonheart, taking up, well, guarded posture, as he approaches with Librina. CRIMSONHEART: Hey, chums! Where's the problem? The doors are pushed open just a bit to reveal Princess Glossary. Her features that are similar to Prince Index's, but with big round glasses instead of little square ones, her hair in a neat bun with a more aesthetic fascinator hat as a crown. GLOSSARY: There IS no problem! Leave, before you CAUSE one! Crimsonheart leans back a bit awkwardly, turning aside to not look her head on. Librina takes note, seeming curious. CRIMSONHEART: Hey, Princess Glossary! Been a while...how's... Index arrives on the scene, walking up with attendants from a carriage with a large crystal orb anchored at its front. INDEX: What is he doing HERE?!

Princess Sandra is reclining by a private pool in the Evertides. A woman who we have seen before attending the cocktail social in the Evertides who bears a resemblance to Alkamilla is nearby, reading a scroll from Pollendara. ATTENDANT: Hazel chose to invite the Worm King as her chosen competitor...hm. She didn't send any invitations to US. Sandra rolls her eyes. SANDRA: We've been so busy trying to reach out to Vermillion, fix the tower damage...I barely have time to BREATHE. Sandra pauses herself by taking a long drink. Sandra waves a hand, as the lady attendant rolls up the scroll. SANDRA: And this is from how long ago? That archery tournament is already going to be over. The Duke, Count Baron, steps into the pool's courtyard with another Pollendaran scroll. COUNT BARON: Pace yourself, princess. Another bee arrived.
Index and Birch are still left standing on the field as Liege is carted hurriedly out by Alkamilla and Grime. INDEX: Well...aha. I suppose it's...just us? Index postures with bravado, as Birch glances awkwardly aside. BIRCH: Do you really think carrying on is appropriate? INDEX: It's the sporting thing to do! Is it not? BIRCH: I don't...FEEL that it is. This competition feels tainted by poor luck. INDEX: Oh, is it? Index hoists his bow up, making a point. Birch seems even MORE unsure. INDEX: Or is this because my first shot was flawless? BIRCH: And your second may have KILLED a man. Index smugly boasts. INDEX: A man whose hobbies are war crimes! If he's dead, every kingdom will THANK me!
In Pollendara, an announcer gestures widely for everyone's attention. ANNOUNCER: Ladies and gentlemen, after careful deliberation... Helios stares accusingly towards Liege, who is glancing smugly towards Index, who is averting his eyes, stressed. Vilgorr and Birch look onward. ANNOUNCER: The judges are calling for the disqualification of... The announcer gestures towards Vilgorr decisively, flinching as the Archskull looks outraged, as does Liege. Both villains break formation with the other competitors to step forward and stare down the announcer. ANNOUNCER: ...Archskull Vilgorr. VILGORR: WhAT LIEGE: Ridiculous! On what grounds?! The announcer carefully steps back from both of them, hands up defensively. Liege sneers. ANNOUNCER: He didn't use a bow. LIEGE: These prolonged weapon inspections and drawn-out deliberations...this is a farce. Helios breaks from the line, surprising Index and Birch as he strides out HELIOS: And it's gone on long enough!
Princess Ruby in a different outfit lacking gloves and with shorter but more meticulously styled hair, looks like she's forcing politeness despite being close to tears as she holds hands with a likewise-younger Prince Index. A ruined tower and the main spire of Vermillion's castle with a very person-shaped crater in the side is shown in the background. NARRATION: Many years ago in the kingdom of Vermillion RUBY: You... want to call off the engagement...? Prince Index wrestles his hands away, averting his eyes. INDEX: It's just...with Shadowmurk's ongoing war, you're now the sole heir of Vermillion! It's not like it was when we were betrothed. Prince Index is awkwardly grimacing, as Ruby tries to reason with him. RUBY: That's been the case for two years, now... Did I do something? INDEX: Ruby...it's not YOU...! Crimsonheart suddenly steps in heroically pumping one fist and standing between them, with longer hair and his older tights-under-speedo look. CRIMSONHEART: It's OBVIOUSLY that no-account LIEGE DOOMVEIL! INDEX: Yes! That is, EXACTLY it. Ruby leans out from behind Crimsonheart to try and look at Index. A clean-shaven Reeves with much shorter hair looks on in mixed frustration. RUBY: This arrangement - it meant so much to our parents! Can't I do anything?
A guard and a scholarly-looking subset of Pollendaran official approach Liege. ANNOUNCER: Pardon, guests - there is one more delay! GUARD: Sovereign Doomveil. LIEGE: What is this? I was invited by your Princess. SCHOLAR: Be that as it may... Liege frowns impatiently at the Pollendaran guard. SCHOLAR: We would like to inspect your bow for enchantments. LIEGE: ...as you have every other competitor, I'm certain. The guard chuckles ruefully, holding a hand out for Liege's bow. GUARD: (quietly) Hah... (normal volume) Enchanted items are governed by the Great Treaty that Shadowmurk refuses. Libraria oversees that no one has access to any. Liege glances pointedly at Prince Index, who is trying a bit TOO hard to not notice. LIEGE: No one, indeed. Liege concedes and hands over his bow to the guard. LIEGE: Mind her well.
Queen Magnolia, an elegant-looking Pollendaran woman, accepts a scepter from an attendant that is similar to her floral-and-honeycomb attire. Princess Hazel is also here, more dolled up than we have seen her prior, and making a face. Their location is a hallway of natural wood pillars and wisteria blooms draping. MAGNOLIA: I am NOT pleased with your choices, Hazel. Princess Hazel scoffs and sneers to the side, brattily. HAZEL: Yes, MOTHER, I'm PERFECTLY aware there's nothing unique happening, today. Magnolia likewise scoffs, and displays some similar behavior to her daughter despite her more regal way of speaking. MAGNOLIA: In MY day, if I didn't like any of the options, I'd simply win the contest mySELF. Princess Hazel and Queen Magnolia step out onto a balcony, the attendant from before presenting them. ANNOUNCER: Arise, for Queen Magnolia and Princess Hazel! We pan out to a castle interwoven into a very very very large tree that has been built up on, large hive structures on its sides looming over the wooded area surrounding it. Numerous bees fly through the air, and a wide dirt road lined with flowers stretches out from it. NARRATION TEXT: A game of courtship in the kingdom of Pollendara ANNOUNCER: The competition for the Princess's favor is about to begin!

Liege is in a sitting room in casual clothing, teasing a morsel of his food to Harbinger, and carefully holding the rest of it further away, impaled on a long thin dagger. Ominous is combing Liege's hair back into its usual look. OMINOUS: The Princess of Pollendara was eager to request your presence for a courtship event. LIEGE: That seems suspicious. Liege flicks the food to Harbinger, who snaps his jaws on it mid-air, as he looks to Alkamilla. LIEGE: Doesn't she keep in close communication with Dawn? Alkamilla exposits things from a read-out projected by her mechanical arm's gemstone. ALKAMILLA: Other than Argent cracking down on their borders, balancing their east and west trade security and blocking our public communicator channels...hard to say who else KNOWS. We DO know that Princess Hazel wants a brag-worthy date for that Royal Wedding. Liege frowns in thought, as Alkamilla shrugs matter-of-factly. LIEGE: I haven't crashed ANY weddings during my rule. ALKAMILLA: Lotta that's on us. Our marauding threw a wrench in all but the most dedicated communications. Liege looks conflicted, while Ominous leans in and tents his fingers, insistently. LIEGE: Still, to waste my chance by being INVITED... OMINOUS: I was hoping you'd be hexing someone's newborn, by now.
Ruby is pacing inside the Vermillion palace, looking tired. Ruby looks out the window she's passing, and the night sky outside. Ruby turns to continue her pacing, and rubs her temples for a moment. Ruby leans into the mail room to look at Reeves, who is going through letters. RUBY: Reeves, did they say anything before they left? REEVES: No. Librina never makes the effort. You should just rest after that long council meeting. Ruby tiredly slouches as Reeves look up at her questioningly. RUBY: I can't. I'm going to go double-check my panic purse. REEVES: Your WHAT? RUBY: It's like a bug-out bag, but cute.
Argent's palace spans upwards beyond the columned bridge leading up to it, tiered with platforms, pillars and balconies. Soldiers from Shadowmurk flank the Royal Murk Tank as Liege walks towards the doors. Dawn greets Liege, in a dress that uses more drapery and has a far less sporty feel to it. DAWN: Welcome - I hope you weren't waiting too long. Liege takes Dawn's hand for a moment, but seems fixated on her lack of gloves. LIEGE: Not at all. Ah. You...aren't wearing gloves. Dawn is surprised for a moment, withdrawing insecurely, but Liege politely gestures for her to carry on. DAWN: Oh - that's more of a western formality! Our soldiers wear them, but... bare hands aren't offensive? LIEGE: I simply thought all surface royals wore them. Dawn is lightly taking Liege's arm and leading him into the castle, as guards frown. DAWN: That's right, you had fingerless ones when you first tried to steal our - oh. (quietly) Let's not talk about that.
In Vermillion, Victor is sorting through letters with Reeves. VICTOR: hmmm...we got more letters from the duke... REEVES: I don't know how much longer we'll be able to keep that incident from the- Ruby leans in to talk to Victor, and Reeves looks up in panic RUBY: Good moooorning! Can we talk about the mail? REEVES: PRINCESS! Reeves rushes over and tries to keep Ruby OUT of the mail room. REEVES: Victor is VERY busy - ah - we're sorting the letters! We're not sure they're safe RUBY: I've already gotten one of them sorted! Ruby holds up a letter, making Reeves panic harder. RUBY: This one arrived from Pollendara! REEVES: OH, well, what, is that, are you sure? Ruby adjusts her hair, looking thoughtfully out a window where a messenger bee drifts, as Reeves sulks. RUBY: I still had some of the flowers from Carnivora in my room, so I think the bee got attracted there first! REEVES: how lovely...
Alkamilla, Ominous, and a few soldiers are waiting in a secret headquarters. OMINOUS: ...aaaany moment...NOW! ...now? ALKAMILLA: You've been saying that for 20 minutes. Liege slams open a door to make his entrance, startling Ominous. LIEGE: Another COMPLETE disaster. We're going HOME OMINOUS: HAH! (quietly) I mean. Alkamilla and Ominous both turn to regard Liege. ALKAMILLA: Did she no-show? OMINOUS: Was it Crimsonheart?! I sensed a battle! ALKAMILLA: Ya threaten to fillet a server for suggesting WHITE wine? Liege angrily stalks into the room as Alkamilla looks at him skeptically. LIEGE: I was a PERFECT GENTLEMAN! I got her CHAIR, I avoided POLITICS, I did NOT kill anyone! ALKAMILLA: Okay, start from the beginning. What do YOU think the disaster was? We change scene to earlier: a woman who we've seen before in The Evertides sits at a table with Liege, in an outdoor garden-like environment. NARRATION TEXT: A fateful meeting in the capital of Argent WOMAN: But really, ONLY knives?
Liege is evoking his magic, emerging in the form of semi-spectral semi-plasmoid-like red hands, Princess Dawn of Argent has grappled him around the neck with her whip. Despite the fact that he is also holding her close with the grip of his glaive, making their posture almost like an embrace, they're still both wary of each other, on a backdop of Argent Kingdom at sunset.
Liege emerges from a regeneration pod, abruptly shoving the door open. ALKAMILLA: oh, GOOD - it's King Can't-Wait-For-The-Pod-To-Drain A view of floor shows that Alkamilla put down towels to absorb the fluid from the pod, her and Ominous greeting Liege out of the pod. LIEGE: How long was I out? ALKAMILLA (aside): ugh, those did nothing... OMINOUS: Three days, sire. Alkamilla looks incredulously at Liege, Ominous proffering a towel. LIEGE: Have I missed any calls from the Evertides? ALKAMILLA: After they saw you get punched out a WINDOW? They probably all think you DIED. Alkamilla frowns, Liege unperturbed by Ominous busily using the towel to get rid of the excess regeneration pod slime from Liege's ears. LIEGE: Then the fact I'm returning after mere days is rather IMPRESSIVE, is it not? ALKAMILLA: Look, I'm all about your confidence, but... The Princesses Dawn, Hazel and Sandra are sitting at a table on a balcony in the Evertides. DAWN: Dating someone who's been losing fights HE starts for literal years? It sounds...embarrassing.
Alkamilla is working on a forgery, as Liege looks on, shadowed by Ominous. LIEGE: Is this the final work? ALKAMILLA: Yep. Two tickets to see what passes for flirting in some stuffy Evertides ballroom. LIEGE: So that second ticket isn't for YOU. OMINOUS: I insist Alkamilla attends with you. Grime leans towards Liege hopefully, and he responds with stern sincerity. GRIME: Do I get dibs on the next party? LIEGE: Of course, if there's another party in Carnivora, Neitherglow, or CORE forbid, Libraria. GRIME: Why Libraria? Liege speaks to Grime as Ominous confers with worry to Alkamilla. LIEGE: Any party there is likely a bore, so you'd be on hand when I change tack to raze the place. GRIME: heh heh, nice! OMINOUS: Please make sure he does not come across as TOO barbarous. ALKAMILLA: I'm a genius, not a miracle maker. The port capital of the Evertides at night, a starry sky with very few clouds, towering against the cliffsides. NARRATION TEXT: A Cocktail Social in The Evertides
Ruby is shocked, backing away to run. RUBY: AH! General Grime?! Am I awake? Ruby's heeled shoe slips in, well, Grime - he has left tracks on the floor at some point, and princesses are prone to tripping. Ruby faceplants into Liege's chest as he looms on scene. LIEGE: Well, well...awake enough, now? RUBY: Mmf-? Liege is doing Villain Standard chin cupping on Ruby, lifting her face to make eye contact. LIEGE: Princess. Quite the early bird, aren't you? Liege is continuing to posture villainously, removing Ruby's crown, as she fidgets her hands daintily, but cuts off the last word of his monologue. LIEGE: But I am not a worm that can be captured so easily! RUBY: Oh, good morning! Are - you here to kidnap me?
Liege is focusing on something, poised tensely with his eyes glowing, while Alkamilla tries to glance towards him. Echoes of distant combat are coming from a far off point. THETA: unbeLIEVable! STOP him! ALKAMILLA: Do you have it yet? LIEGE: Almost... Liege's glaive suddenly bursts through a bit of wall towards the web they're in, spinning in the air. The glaive slices the main web line, And Alkamilla and Liege drop to the ground. Alkamilla reconnects her mechanical arm and listens to the echoing dialogue and sounds of combat. Liege seems done with everything as he pushes to move on. CRIMSONHEART: Looks like THIS itsy bitsy spider WON'T be climbing up the WATER spout! THETA: you're so ANNOYING ALKAMILLA: Should we...DO something, here? LIEGE: I BELIEVE she said to let her handle this.
Crimsonheart muses at some deep tread tracks in the swamp, as Clouwn stands by. CRIMSONHEART: tracks are still pretty fresh CLOUWN: I just told you about them CRIMSONHEART: They must be in a big hurry! Crimsonheart clutches a fist intensely as he looks ahead to the swamp, surrounded by various plantlife and fungi. Clouwn is on a lilypad, looking around fearfully. CRIMSONHEART: Well, we're RIGHT on their tail - just remember, this swamp is full of danger! In a near identical shot, the lily-pad Clouwn was standing on snaps shut like a venus flytrap, only an arm flailing outside of it. CLOUWN: OOOOHHHH NOOO Crimsonheart lifts a fist to the sky, defiant. CRIMSONHEART: CLOUWN, NO! the LAST of the SKY PIXIES! Crimsonheart now runs towards an eerie green glow ahead of him in the swampland. CRIMSONHEART: I won't let his painful sacrifice be in vain! CLOUWN: ooOOohh nnooOOoo!
Liege is striding through the halls of the kingdom mournfully, Ominous and Grime following along. LIEGE: Perhaps we misread the orb, in that YOUR first intuition was correct, and this plan IS foolhardy. Ominous clutches his orb and looks to Liege pleadingly. OMINOUS: Master, please. It sounds like you were having a pleasant time until-- Liege violently shoves a doorway open, causing Grime and Ominous to flinch. LIEGE: CRIMSONHEART just HAD to _intervene_! Liege fumes, one hand clawing at the air. LIEGE: Can't I acquire the power to destroy him in peace?! Liege looks up at an address from deeper in the room off-camera. VOICE: my, MY... poor little Worm King...
Queen Theta has ensnared both Liege and Alkamilla in a web. Alkamilla seems to shrug it off as no big deal as Liege angrily seethes at the trap.
Librina is looking out the balconies of Vermillion. Reeves looks at her flatly from the doorway. LIBRINA: [sighhh] I wonder when Crimsonheart will come back to us...[quietly] or if he'll notice me... Reeves rolls his eyes in annoyance as Librina looks back at him with surprise. REEVES: You're one of hundreds of women in the kingdom, Librina. Both Librina and Reeves are clearly bickering. LIBRINA: Being one of hundreds of MEN in Vermillion doesn't keep you from fawning over the princess. REEVES: That's completely different! Librina turns to the balcony in a huff as Reeves sulks. LIBRINA: You're right - my interest in Crimsonheart makes me look like a hopeless romantic dreamer, while you look like a power-hungry usurper eying the crown
Archskull Vilgorr, a barbarian-like man whose face is hidden by a primordial-looking skull mask, is standing front and center with people whose less ornate skull masks denote they are subordinates. They stand before a sprawling desert with some strange cactus-palm-trees. NARRATION: A Welcoming Party in the Land of Carnivora VILGORR: Hard to believe the lord of shadow isn't _ashamed_ to bare his face to the Teeth of Carnivora! Liege is opposite Vilgorr with two soldiers and Grime. LIEGE: Archskull Vilgorr...to what do I owe such an enthusiastic greeting? Vilgorr steps slightly forward with a raised fist, challenging Liege. VILGORR: We've HEARD about your sad excuse of a war on Vermillion! The Shadowmurk Army brought to its knees by ONE little man! Vilgorr now points to Liege accusingly to nail down his final point. VILGORR: before we listen to your fool words, PROVE you're worthy to tread on our dirt! Grime glances to Liege, who angrily takes up his glaive. GRIME: Boss? LIEGE: I am CLEARLY overdressed, but there's nothing for it.
Two Shadowmurk soldiers are looking up ahead of them at Liege and Grime as they go through the tunnels. One of the soldiers is more focused on addressing the other. SOLDIER 1: So, we're the Shadowmurk EMPIRE. Shouldn't he be EMPEROR Doomveil? SOLDIER 2: (sigh) Seriously? You rookies shouldn't have got medals. The other soldier leans back to the first one, as they have fallen back in step. SOLDIER 1: "Liege" doesn't really properly underline his governmental authority SOLDIER 2 (interrupting): LIEGE is his first name. Doomveil is a FAMILY name. Liege has overheard their conversation, now, and falls back to commandingly loom over them, but in a more domineering than threatening manner. LIEGE: LISTEN to it - "Emperor Liege"? "King Liege"? "Lord Liege"?! Liege pulls ahead into the tank proper as Grime stands by, proud of himself as the soldiers look on. LIEGE: You may CALL me by emperor, king, The Sovereign, lord, master or sire GRIME (smug): I call him boss LIEGE: but you tag "Liege" in there and it just sounds redundant Liege is annoyed by the ramifications of the last option offered by the first soldier, who regards him with respectful posture. SOLDIER 1: Couldn't we just call you LIEGE? LIEGE: ...and disregard my claim to total dominion?
Liege is sulking on a bed in his sinister bedchamber, petting Harbinger. Ominous lurks closest, while Alkamilla is nonchalantly seated at a vanity. OMINOUS: Lord, I understand after many, many, MANY years-- ALKAMILLA: Maybe chill on the 'many's. OMINOUS: --you feel discouraged, but let's not be reckless. Liege counters this with a more defiant posture, turning to bare his teeth at Ominous. LIEGE: I'm the SOVEREIGN you can't tell me what to DO Ominous holds a hand up entreatingly, as Alkamilla sits up from the chair. OMINOUS: As your ADVISOR, my whole POINT is to tell you what I think ALKAMILLA: yeah, this is like, his ONE thing OMINOUS: and I think throwing away your past ambitions on a sudden whim is foolhardy. Liege sulks back down on his bed at this because it's a very fair argument. LIEGE: nyeh Ominous relents, one hand long-sufferingly placed on his forehead, as Liege likewise softens somewhat to counsel. OMINOUS: ...so. If I'm understanding, sire, you believe that the Power of Love...will help you beat Crimsonheart. LIEGE: ...yes.
Advisor Ominous is acknowledging Grime at some kind of ceremony in the interim of the fight aftermath. Presenting a selection of gleaming medal he regards Grime as a group of soldiers in Shadowmurk, with large banners hanging behind them. OMINOUS: ...and so, we bestow a Medal of Heroism to those that aided Second General Grime in extracting our lord from the clutches of the Vermillion Kingdom! General Grime, please identify the brave souls responsible. Grime looks confidently off to one side, scanning for faces in the crowd, one hand held up in a pointing shape. He then stops, looking back at his own hand, which blobbily forms a shape like someone holding up three fingers. A sizable bubble forms in the top of Grime's slimy head. Grime's eyes widen in realization, and the bubble pops. Sinking his face into his armor like a turtle in retreat, Grime is clearly in distress. GRIME: Theyyy...were in helmets. Ominous glares up at Grime in annoyance. The Shadowmurk Soldiers look on from behind him, all helmeted and identical. Ominous upends the entire box of medals over one shoulder, as the soldiers cheer, and Grime stews in embarrassment. OMINOUS: fffffffine, whatever, everyone take a medal.
The scene opens on the Vermillion kingdom, looking at the castle wall. NARRATION: A typical day in the Kingdom of Vermillion A small portion of the wall goes up in smoke, from a similar but more zoomed-in position, with a violent "KRR-PHHM" Liege Doomveil, a blue-skinned white-haired man with red eyes and a villainous appearance, is punted a good distance back from the heart-shaped tower structure by this same blow, and drops to one knee holding his double-edged glaive. LIEGE: Curse you...CRIMSONHEART! Crimsonheart is standing triumphant on the other side of the gap between them, emerging from the rubble and smoke. He has a large red visor that covers most of his face, with big blond hair and pink hued skin. CRIMSONHEART: Give it a rest, Doomveil! You and your GOONS were bound to LOSE
Liege Doomveil is thrown down through the heart-shaped clouds of Vermillion, his glaive tumbling in the background.
