A black and white photo taken today on Government St in Victoria. There are cruise ship tourists all over the downtown area but everyone seems to be in "plain clothes". I've been noticing this trend for days. In this photo a group of people are walking on the street carrying drinks. Behind them, another group of people are gathered around a walking tour guide. Everyone is having fun but you won't find a Texas or Alaska tee shirt if you try. It's a sad commentary on current events.
I took this photo from the deck of a BC Ferry on route from the island to the city of Vancouver. The sky and ocean are very blue and there are layers of forested islands all the way back to the most distant mountain on the horizon which would be Vancouver Island.

A nice interaction between to great blue herons. I spotted these two birds at their nest early in the morning in Beacon Hill Park, in Victoria, BC
