This round of the Starbucks' strike is mostly over: "Nearly six weeks after thousands of Starbucks union workers began to strike over contract negotiations, the standoff with the Seattle-based coffee giant hasn’t budged. Now, the majority of striking baristas are set to return to work, [...]" This has been going on for years without producing the promised results for workers. When there is another strike, will the politicians that jumped on this round change their tact? Or just ignore the strikes are not working?
If only those Starbucks employees could find a new employer. Oh wait, they could. But they would rather strike than put in the effort to find a better employer.
"The current strike is the fourth such action the union has organized against Starbucks since 2023, [...] Talks seemed promising last February, but they quickly broke down amid mutual recriminations just a few months later." So, employees have had since 2023 to find a better employer and haven't.
