Neurotransmitter acetylcholine as a constellation rising in the night sky with serotonin diminished and setting on the horizon as in REM sleep. REM sleep is when your #dreams are most vivid and the mind is highly active while your body is paralyzed; except your eyes, which are in rapid motion.

To the right is a textbook image Brodmann’s 100 year old map of the brain with a Mt. Hood wilderness map reassembled over the different areas of the cerebral cortex. The remapped wilderness brain in greens and blue is carved in relief in the encaustic. In the upper left of the brain map is a mandala like diagram of 100 years worth of glacier melt on Mt. Hood.

An imaginary dream map hand printed in grayscale. One sees the topography of the Salmon River estuary and the Cascade Head trail near the Oregon Coast along with elements of the night sky and neurotransmitters associated with dream sleep. The map contains the strongly etched topography of the shoreline which includes three islands and the more subtle paths which mark the hiking trail up to the Cascade Head meadow.
