Things I love. Fake IC's off eBay. I know, I know. Just I needed just 2 SPI flash chips and ordering off the likes of mouser/digikey have min orders. 1/2/3 reads from a blank chip 4/5/6 reads from another chip with my firmware written to it. Yeah.... Thats not good!

Face ICs have been the bane of my existence at times. I work for an electronics manufacturer... we've had claims in the past of our kit not working.. we get them back, and they are indeed duff.. start investigating to find they are not our kit. 1/2

Incredible that they will counterfeit chips worth less than a buck (73 pence).

Oh and its not the programmer. Grabbed some other flash chips from stock (but not the right size) and flashed them with something else and they read/write as expected.
