Delphi Delphi originated as a rapid application development (RAD) tool in the 1990s, offering a then-revolutionary way to build robust Windows desktop applications. Over time, however, the industry shifted toward web and mobile platforms, and Delphi struggled to maintain relevance outside the Windows desktop sphere.
