The following is not intended to stir something or seek attention or resources. This is me shouting into the void and will likely be the only time I share something like this. Cons and kink events lately for me have been a weird feeling, especially in recent times over the last several years. I always had anxiety about how my experience would go, if I’d even do anything fun and such. Most of the time I set no expectations of anything. Sometimes it goes well, others it doesn’t. But I fell I can never shake this feeling, especially now more than ever. To be open about it, I feel like I don’t really fit in anywhere. Whether at a con, in a friend group, anywhere. And since discovering I was non-binary, I feel these thoughts have gotten worse. I feel as if I don’t meet a certain criteria to really be considered a part of anything or be accepted in a lot of places. I get the feeling I’m still “too cis” to be considered non-binary. I’m not the party hard type. I’m not a twink. I’m not a femboy. I’m too anxious to reach out to friends or further converse because I don’t want to impede on anything. Where I do The only real exceptions to this are the times I visit others outside of a con environment and the times I went to Pawsome in the UK. Those have really been the only times where I felt I was genuinely accepted and included for who I am. I’m not discounting any real and close friendships I have. I probably wouldn’t be who I am today without you guys and I am sincerely grateful to have you in my life. I feel extremely guilty for even sharing this. I hate venting publicly but I’m too anxious to really reach out to friends and such out of fear that this would drive them and others away. And I can’t help but say sorry for even opening up about this at all. If you’re still here, thank you for reading what I have to say at the very least.
