Sunsetting over wintery islands in December. It’s cold outside and the rain that has pounded the earth and sea for days has broken. Deep orange melts into a light blue with a few clouds overhead. In the distance, a lens flare looks like a second, smaller sun setting off to the far right to balance the boldness of the real, actual, blistering sun on the left. Maybe you can hear the buoys in the distance ringing softly, then sharply? If you sit quietly, I bet you can.
