Text, titled: The Cats after Midnight. THE REMNANT > While on an investigation, a Latchkey discovers a large box. From inside, they hear an insistent “Raow!”. If opened, they find only a tape for an old B-tier movie apparently from the early 80s called The Cats After Midnight. If played during the day, it’s a boring (if earnest) movie about cats running through a city and…the rest of the details are fuzzy; it’s quite forgettable, really. If played at night, however, anyone present is lulled to sleep before the end of the intro music and experience the events of the Lost Transmission as a shared dream. > A package is delivered to the House on Rodenbecker Street, addressed to a Latchkey with the Sight Beyond Sight move. It contains a painting of cats against a moonlit cityscape on canvas, signed: “Abigail W”. On the reverse side is written in pencil, The Cats After Midnight. If someone takes time to study the canvas, the images begin to move, and the Lost Transmission plays out as a living painting. > A housecat darts out in front of the Latchkeys and flees into a space between two buildings. If followed, the Latchkeys see it held by The Big Man, who strokes it lovingly as he tells the story of the Lost Transmission to them. The events play out as a shared hallucination.
