I don't want to be saved I want to be cast into the bonfire And explode, a million brilliant firecrackers That light up the sky Finally released from potentiation Letting the flames consume me Rebirthed even in the briefest moments Of light sound and sulfur Which dispenses alchemically altered Into the air, spreading into the lungs Of children women men To be tied to memory sense A flashback in their tired years Of summer blooms, Friends and family. I do not want to be safe, Stored securely in a sealed box Waiting holidays that never come Stacked neat and tidy With warning labels Pasted carefully over keyhole To indicate tampering. I want to burn in the radiance Of the world sun Of your passion, Of which you claim none Yet ive felt the edge of smoulder An ashen red glow in the night Where I smell smoke and see The heights of which the flames could rise I do not want to be safe.
