it'd eventually make its way to the US, first being built by american locomotive builders ALCo and Baldwin in 1911. the first ones were basically stretched 2-8-2 "mikados" with four-wheel pilot trucks for better stability at speed, but later ones were much more of their own thing... (2/5)
