As of November 12, 2025, several institutions have expressed interest in signing on to the Compact: Valley Forge Military College, a private, co-educational, two-year military college in Pennsylvania, was the first institution to sign up. Valley Forge sent a letter to Dr. David Barker, Assistant Secretary for Postsecondary Education, expressing its "desire and honor" to be part of the Compact. Specifically, it stated that "Participation in the Compact would provide valuable opportunities for collaboration, shared learning, and continuous improvement." The letter said that Valley Forge was "particularly eager to contribute to discussions on leadership education student resilience and pathways from two-year programs to four-year institutions." New College of Florida announced that it would also sign on to the Compact. The small public liberal arts school, which Governor DeSantis's administration has overhauled, wrote: "As other colleges have rejected the compact, we see it as a bold step forward from the Trump administration that will help preserve America's place as the world's number one destination for higher education." Grand Canyon University, a private Christian university located in Phoenix, Arizona, announced that its policies and mission aligned with the Compact, but said it would not officially express interest until it received clarity on any potential developments since the Compact's initial rollout. The University's spokesperson stated: "[W]e have not yet received any official information or invitation from the Department of Education, nor do we know if any revisions have been made based on initial feedback," and explained, "We'll await those developments before determining any next steps or"

Signatories commit themselves to revising governance structures as necessary to create such an environment, including but not limited to transforming or abolishing institutional units that purposefully punish, belittle, and even spark violence against conservative ideas. Given the importance of academic freedom to the marketplace of ideas, signatories shall adopt a policy protecting academic freedom in classrooms, teaching, research, and scholarship.
Therefore, no factor such as sex, ethnicity, race, nationality, political views, sexual orientation, gender identity, religious associations, or proxies for any of those factors shall be considered, explicitly or implicitly, in any decision related to undergraduate or graduate student admissions or financial support, with due exceptions for institutions that are solely or primarily comprised of students of a specific sex or religious denomination.

On July 17, 2025, Defendants Khadeeja Safdar and Joseph Palazzolo co-authored and published an article largely focused on President Trump that falsely claimed that he authored, drew, and signed a card to wish the late—and utterly disgraced—Jeffrey Epstein a happy fiftieth birthday. To attempt and inextricably link President Trump to Epstein, Defendants Safdar and Palazzolo falsely claim that the salacious language of the letter is contained within a hand-drawn naked woman, which was created with a heavy marker. Worse, Defendants Safdar and Palazzolo falsely represent as fact that President Trump drew the naked woman’s breasts and signed his name “Donald” below her waist, “mimicking pubic hair.” Perplexingly, however, the “letter” is a “typewritten note styled as an imaginary conversation between Trump and Epstein, written in the third person.” Indeed, Defendants Safdar and Palazzolo provide a series of quotes from the nonexistent letter, claiming that the letter was written in third person, beginning with a voice over interluding a conversation, followed by a purported dialogue between President Trump and Epstein—as if they were characters in a play. On the one hand, Defendants Safdar and Palazzolo falsely pass off as fact that President Trump, in 2003, wrote, drew, and signed this letter. And on the other hand, Defendants Safdar and Palazzolo failed to attach the letter, failed to attach the alleged drawing, failed to show proof that President Trump authored or signed any such letter, and failed to explain how this purported letter was obtained. The reason for those failures is because no authentic letter or drawing exists. Defendants concocted this story to malign President Trump’s character and integrity and deceptively portray him in a false light.

Many people regard these sudden terminations as a harsh and dislocating action that works significant hardship on many civil servants—individuals who committed their considerable energy and talents to serving the nation. Others regard these terminations as part of a long-overdue effort to downsize the federal government and trim unnecessary expenses. Complaints about the bloat of the federal bureaucracy and concerns about preserving the public fisc have long been facets of our political discourse.
