Young people’s self-reported life satisfaction has fluctuated over time since 1997. The scale used to assess life satisfaction ranges from 4 to 10. The highest satisfaction levels were recorded in 2002, when 61% rated their life 9 or 10 out of 10. The lowest levels of high satisfaction were recorded in 2016 and between 2022 and 2024. In 2024, only 44% of respondents rated their life 9 or 10.
