This is a conversion chart that shows the volunteers cooking in the church's basement kitchen how much meat, vegetables, desserts, salads, coffee/tea and shortcakes are needed to serve 50 people. It lists 5 different ways to quantify potatoes at scale depending on if they are mashed (2 pecks), boiled (1.5 pecks), creamed (10 pounds), escalloped (10 pounds) or chips (2.5 pounds).

Virga, rain that evaporates before falling to the ground, is visible. There is also a bright rainbow on the side of the mountain that my phone's camera can't adequately capture.

In the background is Pueblo Peak, which is a deep purple. In the fore- and mid-ground is mesa grasslands with some scattered housing. The sky is a mass of streaked clouds with bright pink virga, a weather phenomenon where the rain is falling, but evaporates before reaching ground.

Smart bird feeder captured image of a black headed grosbeak looking directly into the camera. The camera's lens is misty/ water logged as is the bird, who is sopping wet and has feathers bending every which way. Black headed grosbeak is a small bird with an orange chest, black head and feathers. They have thick beaks, and this bird appears to be holding a large seed in its beak.
The planter the Stapelia gigantea is in was designed by Justine Blakely’s Jungalow brand and is in the shape of a human face with eyes, nose, and mouth sketched on it. In the plant itself has green clumps of the Stapelia gigantea plant which are about 6 inches tall. A month ago, a large blossom started forming and just opened today. The blossom dangles down the side of the pot. It is a 4 petaled Star dish shape, and dwarfs the size of the pot and plant since it measures about 8 inches from end to end. The blossom is wrinkly and white-ish yellow with a silky texture and fringey fuzz. There are smatterings of magenta veining throughout the interior of the blossom, with a dark magenta center. I have positioned the picture so it appears that the blossom is the open mouth of the human face on the planter.

The white prickly poppy plant looks like a thistle with jagged edges and spines. Each plant is about 18 inches high and has several large, white blooms with ruffles edges and yellow centers. This particular poppy has 5 blossoms. Each white blossom is showy and about 4 inches across. They are xeric and grow in disturbed, sandy and rocky soil.
A record player is playing Side B of Latin ala Lee, a 1960 album from Capitol Records. The album cover features Peggy Lee, a bottle-bleached blond in a black, low-shouldered dress as she grasps arms with a matador on each side. Peggy Lee is centered and facing out to the viewer, and each of the matadors has their back to the camera with their golden and heavily beaded suit of lights jackets standing out against the all-white background. A 2 foot by 3 foot clump of prickly pear cactus growing on a dry gravel slope in my yard. The fruits, called tunas, of this variety of prickly pear growing at 7200 feet can withstand USDA zone 3 cold are not particularly tasty for humans to eat. The varieties that are typically used for harvesting need much warmer winters than we have in our mountains. Each June the clumps of prickly pear in our area bloom in bright yellow, multi-layered blooms. In this picture you can see 5 yellow blooms scattered in the 3 foot wide patch.

That protuberance looks and awful lot like male or female genitalia, depending on how you view it. The protuberance sticks out from the fruit enough to cast its own shadow.

Stemless evening primrose has a long green nectar tube, but it's not really a stem. The flower/nectar tube is white with yellow stamens inside. The plant is compact and matted with fringed leaves.
