It's tracked across several tickets, and the consistent fix/workaround is to disable Metal. The fix — do this first: Help → Edit Custom VM Options, add this line, then restart: -Dsun.java2d.metal=false That switches WebStorm off Metal back to the OpenGL/CPU renderer and resolves the Tahoe app-switch freeze for most people. (Edit Custom VM Options writes the user override, so unlike a manual file edit it survives updates.)
