So this actually conceptually makes more sense based on how we currently conceive of negative as a concept, cognitively. Per Lakoff and Nunez on that whole rotation schema stuff. We preserve the magnitude and use the minus to rotate 180 degrees. Which on one access, is just the exact opposite way.
