PANEL 1 Rey, a short fox in a tunic, is stirring a giant cauldron with a manic expression. REY Yes! This is it. With this brew I’ll redeem everything about myself. PANEL 2 She stands on a stool next to boxes of personal items labeled “TEEN STUFF”. She dumps in a box of memorabilia while the pot “gurgles” and overflows. REY A childhood doll. My teen diaries. A hair from my first crush....I’ll have the secret to a happy, well-adjusted life. PANEL 3 “SADNESS” explodes out of the cauldron, sending books, hearts, and choke necklaces flying through the air. PANEL 4 Rey stands amongst the wreckage as items fall back down to earth. She is covered in blackened bits and slime. Smoke billows behind her as the cauldron overflows. REY Maybe a little less “self-actualization” in the next batch.

OPENER 1 Scurvy, a rat with a white hat pulled over his eyes and a blue coat, holds onto the mast in stormy weather. He grips a rope. SCURVY The seas are rocky, Captain! OPENER 2 Close up of the rain-soaked captain at the wheel. DAVIE Put the ship in ‘all terrain’ mode. PANEL 1 The three are washed ashore on a beach amongst the wreckage of their ship. One crew member, Hazel, is waking the others. HAZEL Wake up, Captain! DAVIE Where are we? HAZEL We washed up on this island. PANEL 2 The three stand around on the beach and form a plan. DAVIE Let’s salvage what we can and wait for rescue. BOTH Aye, Captain. PANEL 3 Hazel holds up a map. HAZEL Hold on. (Cont) I recognize this island, I use it for winter food storage. (cont) There’s a cache near here. PANEL 5 Hazel and Scurvy haul the chest out of the ground while Davey looks on. DAVEY Lift with your legs! PANEL 6 Scurvy opens it to find a bunch of food. CREW It’s full of preserves! Without Hazel we would have starved! PANEL 7 Thorn lays on the ground with a book open, quill in hand. THORN (THOUGHT) And then the crew made Hazel the captain, because caching food is the most important quality in a leader. (cont) I should submit this for prizes.

On the bottom is Wind Waker, which is the game that was released, and when the art direction was announced for it fans were furious that it didn't look like the demo. Wind Waker has since become one of the most beloved and well-received Zelda, both gameplay wise and artistically.
