What we call the Old State House had been the Crown’s “head office” in Boston Town. Note the British “lion and the unicorn” atop the facade. It’s the city’s oldest surviving public building, built 1713. In 1770, protesters gathered, British soldiers fired into the crowd, 3 died instantly, 2 died of their wounds by the next day.
