Dystopian/general fiction writer of short stories, but have a couple of novels that I'm working on, too.

The MC comes across a news article which states that the creative unions are appealing the Bernician Government's decision to force creators to "opt out" of their works being used to train AI. The MC, a photographer, welcomes the news, and enthusiastically tells her husband about it.
A robot prepares to conduct a heart transplant when it suddenly stops. A group of student doctors ask the consultant what to do.
Early-morning mother-and-teenager interaction. Mum needs Alex to look after his toddler nephew while she drives Alex's older sister Lisa to the hospital.
Anita is at the New Era Hospital in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Bernicia, sipping coffee and reflecting about being served by people instead of robots for the first time in decades. An hour later, she goes to visit her sisters Mavis and Irene in the cardiac ward, where she learns that Irene has had another heart attack. Mavis is visibly upset by Irene's heart attack and Anita comforts her.
