The Government of Zambia unilaterally decides to "postpone" RightsCon 2026, less than a week before the conference starts in Lusaka. This is an international embarrassment for Zambia and an affront to civil society.

Zambia's Minister of Technology and Science said that "certain invited speakers and participants remain subject to pending administrative and security clearances". Quite transparently showing their alleged intent to block specific orgs/people from participating. A clear attack on civil society.
