People discouraged by Repubs & centrist Dems might not bother to fight the barriers to voting. But a candidate with good polices may inspire that. So did the higher turnout elect Mandami, or did Mandami cause the higher turnout? @pwgtennant.bsky.social can tell you a lot about this sort of thing.
