This is gonna be a long one, so bear with me. So in the scene the dude tells himself "to arms" to amp himself up. The book is a circa 1840s French novel called "The Red and the Black". I Snapped this and said how much of a nerd he was for saying "to arms" as an aristocrat, and how much I loved that nerdy character. Told ya it was a long alt.

So this beast was written in pencil and I had to type it all up. At one point the tack of the story was so long and I was like done typing that part so I just moved on to a different one. I made that note so I remembered to come back to it. Art or something hehe
