Small fir tree almost growing on rock. It does not think in human, but if it did I suspect it does feel small, stunted, disabled or unfortunate, but tenacious and enduring. I don't know its age but I have walked by it for 30 years.

A windlass is a machine used on boats to assist in hauling the anchor back into the boat. This is an old stainless steel manual model. In coudl also be used on land as a winch.
